The Tax Agent Board (TAB), governed by Part 4 of the Tax Administration Act 2009, wishes to inform all registered tax agents of the following important updates:
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Hours
In line with the 2025–2026 National Budget Announcement, all registered tax agents are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of CPD to be eligible for license renewal in 2026.
Tax Compliance Requirement
All tax agents must ensure their tax affairs are up to date and compliant to qualify for license renewal.
Annual Renewal Fee
A reminder will be issued in early December regarding the annual renewal fee of $350.00, which must be paid on or before 31st December 2025.
Code of Conduct
All tax agents are reminded to adhere to the Tax Agent Code of Conduct at all times.
The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) will collaborate with the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA) to support CPD compliance. Additionally, the FRCS Education Team will offer courses to assist members in meeting their CPD requirements.
TAB Meeting Schedule
The TAB convenes quarterly in January, April, July, and October to review new applications and address matters related to tax agents.
Eligibility Criteria for New Applicants
To be registered as a tax agent, an applicant must:
- Be a fit and proper person to prepare tax returns and conduct business under tax laws on behalf of taxpayers; and
- Be a Chartered Accountant (CA) of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants; or
- Hold an equivalent membership with a recognized accounting body or

VAT Monitoring System (VMS) – Phase 2
Accountants were included in Phase 2 of the VAT Monitoring System (VMS). Members who have not yet registered are reminded that the implementation deadline is 31st December 2025.
