What is Advance Tax?
Advance Tax is a prepayment of income tax by a business or company before the end of the financial year. It is paid three times during the tax year and is based on the previous year’s tax assessment of the business or company.
Types of Advance Tax
There are two types of advance tax:
- Advance Tax for Persons other than a Company (e.g., sole traders, trustees, partners, directors).
- Company Advance Tax.
Due Dates for Advance Tax Payment
The due dates for advance tax payments differ for businesses and companies:
- Advance Tax for Persons other than a Company (e.g., sole traders, trustees, partners, directors):
- 30 April
- 31 August
- 30 November
- Company Advance Tax
- Sixth month of the company’s financial year.
- Ninth month of the company’s financial year.
- Twelfth month of the company’s financial year.
