Expression of Interest No.13/2025 – SALE OF A SAILING YACHT

FRCS invites EOI from interested buyers for the sale of the sailing yacht “SY JAI NIMAI NITAI”.  This vessel has been seized by FRCS and will be sold under Section 159 of the Customs Act. The yacht is offered on an “as is, where is” basis.

a. BACKGROUND: The sailing yacht SY JAI NIMAI NITAI is a foreign-registered vessel which arrived in Fiji on 15 November 2019 and was granted clearance at Vuda Marina under Concession Code 228, which pertains to temporary importation concessions.

  • The original owners, Michael Alan Lightfoot and Marian Ann Lightfoot, intended to donate the vessel to Krishna Katiya Temple in Lautoka.
  • The transfer was unsuccessful due to outstanding dues, including marina fees, local mechanic charges, and duty liabilities.
  • FRCS has since seized the yacht, and it is now offered for sale to recover unpaid dues.
  • The buyer will be responsible for outstanding duty, VAT, and storage/security charges, as determined by Customs regulations before finalization of the sale.

b. Interested parties may inspect the vessel at:
