A Tariff Classification Ruling is a formal decision by FRCS that determines how a product is classified under Fiji’s tariff system. This classification decides the duty rate for importing goods.

Procedure Steps:
Step 1: Prepare Your Application
- Fill in the Tariff Classification Application form click here.
- Attach required documents:
- Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
- Manufacturing process details
- Product features and purpose
- Product sample and clear images
- Any other relevant information (catalogues, brochures)
- Application fee required
Step 2: Submit the Application
- Email the completed form and documents to tariff&trade@frcs.org.fj or submit in person at FRCS Complex, Nasese.
- FRCS NTTA Team will review the application.
- If documents are missing, you will be notified to submit them.
Step 3: Research and Decision Process
- The officer will research your commodity and prepare findings within 45 working days.
- Additional information may be requested if needed.
Step 4: Receive Ruling Notification
- You will receive a written notice detailing the Customs ruling.
- The final ruling will be published on the FRCS website.
- If rejected, you will be informed in writing.
