Arrival and Clearance Procedures for Yachts and Vessels in Fiji.
Procedure and Steps:
1. Merchant Vessels – Arrival Process
All merchant vessels arriving in Fiji from international waters must:
- Notify FRCS via a licensed shipping agent at least 48 hours prior to arrival at a designated Port of Entry.
- Upon reaching the pilot station, contact your shipping agent to request port entry clearance from Port Control.
- Hoist the “Q” flag and keep it flying until cleared by the Ministry of Health, unless a radio pratique has been granted.
- The vessel master may request Port Control to coordinate with:
- Port Health
- Fiji Revenue & Customs Service (FRCS)
- Ministry of Immigration (MOI)
- Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF)
All crew and passengers must remain on board until clearance is granted by border control authorities.
Documents Required on Arrival:
- Clearance from last port
- Crew list and passenger list
- Stores list
- Tonnage declaration
- Crew declarations
- Completed arrival cards for disembarking individuals
- Valid passports
- Valid outbound airline tickets (if disembarking and flying out)
2. Yachts and Small Craft – Arrival Process
All yachts and small craft must:
- Submit an Advance Notification (Form C2C) at least 48 hours before arrival via email: yachtsreport@frcs.org.fj
- Fly the “Q” flag while awaiting clearance from Port Health.
- Obtain clearance from:
- Ministry of Health (MOH)
- FRCS
- Ministry of Immigration (MOI)
- Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF)
Documents Required on Arrival:
- Two copies of the completed Advance Notification/Inward Report (Form C2C)
- Completed arrival cards
- Valid passports
- Clearance from last port
- Record of the last 10 ports of call
- Valid outbound airline tickets (if disembarking and flying out)

3. Super Yachts and Pleasure Cruising
- The master must complete and sign a “Notice to Owner of Yachts Declaration” before clearance.
- Any disembarking crew must be reported to Customs with reasons for disembarkation.
- Carrying FJ$10,000 or more in currency (or equivalent) requires a Border Currency Report.
- All Customs forms must be fully completed. Incomplete forms may result in delays or penalties.
4. Customs Charges and Attendance Fees
FRCS Working Hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
After-hours Clearance Fees:
- Weekends & Public Holidays: FJ$60/hour (minimum 3 hours)
- Weekdays (after hours): FJ$50/hour
5. Duty-Free Allowances for Passengers (18+ years)
Each eligible passenger may bring in duty-free:
- 3L spirits or
- 4.5L wine or
- 4.5L beer
AND - 200 cigarettes or
- 200g cigars/tobacco or
- 1 e-cigarette with 200ml liquid
Plus, personal items up to FJ$2,000 in value.
Crew members are not eligible for duty-free landing allowance
6. Firearms and Ammunition
Firearms must be declared in:
- C2C form (for yachts)
- Dangerous Goods form (for merchant vessels)
- Firearms will be detained by Fiji Police and held until departure.
- Arrange collection at least 48 hours before departure.
- The vessel owner/master/agent is responsible for all related costs.
Prohibited weapons include flick knives, swordsticks, knuckle-dusters, and disguised weapons.
