Senior Policy Advisor- Vacancy #25 of 2019

We offer world class exposure with our affiliations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Customs Organization (WCO), The World Bank, The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA) to name a few.

We are looking for suitable candidate for Senior Policy Advisor position within our Revenue Management Directorate to be based at the head office in Suva.  To be considered for this position you will need to have good background research skills and provide quality advice on policy and interpretative matters for Government, its agencies and the Service.  The suitable candidate needs to have solid direct and indirect tax policy experience including a strong knowledge of international taxation along with laws administered by FRCS. The person needs to have strong fiscal policy knowledge and be able to articulate how tax policy options can be integrated in line with the overall macroeconomic objectives. We are looking for someone who is, friendly, hardworking, creative, and thrives in a fast paced environment.

The successful candidate should have:

  • strong knowledge of fiscal policy and ability to advocate tax policy options in a rapidly changing macroeconomic environment.
  • strong experience in the national budget works or related activities at national level.
  • strong knowledge of international tax policy and international taxation matters such as Fiji’s tax treaties and international conventions relating to FRCS.
  • strong knowledge of existing tax policies and ability to analyze and process tax incentive applications.
  • strong research and data analysis skills including ability to rationalize revenue and economic trends
  • strong knowledge of laws administered by FRCS.
  • effective Customer Management knowledge and Conflict Management skills.

Salary Band 6: $36,939 Base Salary                          Job Description

Applicants must have a degree in Economics or any other relevant field. Proven skills and experience supported by a high record of performance and integrity is desirable.
