FRCS CEO attends RHCA Conference

Our CEO, Mr. Udit Singh participated in the 25th Regional Heads of Customs Administration (RHCA) Conference held in Sydney, Australia from 15th to 18th April 2024.

The Conference brought together 35 member countries of the Asia/Pacific (AP) region as well as the Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB), and the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office (RILO). The focus was on supporting and strengthening the collective Customs administrations’ effort to promote growth, security, unity and prosperity in the AP.  

It also provided an insight into the update of WCO policy and initiatives, ROCB and RILO updates, AP 2024-2026 regional strategic plan and terms of reference, WCO AP communique for gender equality and diversity, and sharing of best practices by other regional Customs. These included WCO modernization, resolution on strengthened customs-industry resilience and canine experts working group.

RHCA Conference not only convened to discuss matters of customs administration but also served as a platform for strengthening relations and partnerships with neighboring countries willing to support Fiji. Amongst discussions on trade facilitation and border management, delegates also took the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to collective progress and solidarity in the face of shared challenges.
